Biography

1939 Born in Yayladağ, Hatay (Antioch)
1961-67 İstanbul National Fine Arts Academy, Workshop of Sculpture Şadi Çalık
1969-70 Assistantship in the National Fine Arts Academy
1970-77 National Scholarship to study abroad: education in London till 1972.
1972 Founding member and President of the Berlin Association of Turkish Academician Artists.
1976 Participation in the Antalya Film and Art Festival Sculptural work during two months, at the town square, open to the public
1977 Directed the Nazım Hikmet project
1977-78 Worked as a freelance artist in Berlin.
1978-81 Worked as instructor in the Stone Workshop of the Sculpture Department of the Sculpture Department of the İstanbul National Fine Arts Academy
1981-89 Worked in Berlin as a freelance artist
1982-86 Won the competition to participate in the Kranoldplatz Sculpture Symposium and realized the "Amorous Clouds" project.
1984-87 Won the competition to participate in the "Berlin Human Landscapes" Sculptural Symposium and realized the sculptural project "Work İmmigrants"
1986-88 The realization of the "Our Dreams" project with the cooperation of Turkish and German youth, assisting young sculptors in realizing relief work. The execution of the project "Cemal's Dream". This sculpture was erected in front of the Stedhaus Böcklepark youth hostel.
1988 The execution in Bonn, of a monument to the II. World War Deserters.
1989 The Participation to the II. İstanbul İnternational Biennale and the execution of the work "Stories of Şahmeran"
1990 Participation in the III. International asian-European-Biennale
1990 The Sculpture "Seperation" erected in front of the İstanbul Bebek Turkish Merchant Bank.
1990 Execution of a family mausoleum project in the old cemetery Karacaahmet.
1995 Moving to a workshop in Ankara provided by the Ministry of Culture.
1995 "Bull + Bear" sculpture erected in the Stock Market.
1996 Work in process in Selçuk (near Ephesus) on a public "Atatürk" monument.
1996 Work in process in Pergamum on the highway junction, Featuring a 17m column with the İmage of Nike.
